Lens Implant Options
Lens Implant Options
There are many options for intraocular lens implants. These implants will determine the quality of your vision for the rest of your life! There are a number of lenses to choose from; you and your doctor will decide which option best fits your lifestyle.
Alcon PanOptix
The Alcon PanOptix lens gives you a full range of vision, including distance, intermediate, and near.
In the vast majority of daily activies, no glasses will be needed; however, there is a possibility of experiencing mild glare at night that usually resolves within 6 months of surgery. This is what patients have said about PanOptix:
- 99% of people with the PanOptix lens would choose the same lens again
- 98% of people with the PanOptix lens would recommend it to family and friends
Alcon Toric
This type of intraocular lens is specifically for astigmatism-correcting. This will give you the potential to have clearer vision and less need for glasses at a distance. Patients who choose this lens will need reading glasses for arm’s length. If you have cataracts and astigmatism, ask your doctor if you’re eligible for the Alcon Toric lens.
Basic Monofocal Lens
Although this lens is covered by insurance, this lens will not guarantee superb vision without glasses at any distance. You would still need glasses after surgery to see at arm’s length and up close.
