Artificial Tears; Multiple Ophthalmic Products recalled due to potentially harmful “Manufacturing Error”

Earlier this month, a notice was issued regarding the voluntary recall of several over-the-counter ophthalmic products. The recall was initiated after a U.S. Food and Drug Administration audit revealed “manufacturing deviations.”
Pharmaceutical distributor AvKARE was alerted to the consumer-level recall and is urging consumers to stop using the affected ophthalmic products immediately.
What this means for consumers
If you have purchased any of the items listed in AvKARE’s recall notice, please stop using them immediately. To initiate the return process, complete the downloadable PDF “Quality to Return” form included with the notice, and send it via email to customerservice@avkare.com or fax it to 931-292-6229.
After you submit the form, the company will provide you with a “Return Authorization Form.” This form will allow you to return the recalled product to the specified address and receive a full refund, including any shipping costs.
Additionally, AvKARE has indicated that the recalled items were shipped between May 26, 2023, and April 21, 2025. A comprehensive chart listing the lot numbers and expiration dates of the affected products is also included in AvKARE’s notice.
