The Light Adjustable Lens
With other lenses, you have to decide the vision you want to have before your cataract surgery. Once implanted, those lenses can’t be changed. This is called a “fixed.” lens. However, the Light Adjustable Lens is the only lens that allows for adjustments after surgery.
Meaning that the only decision you have to make before your cataract surgery is to choose the Light Adjustable Lens. Once your eyes heal, your vision can be customized to your lifestyle.
The LAL process
Using a special photosensitive material, the Light Adjustable Lens is able to react to ultraviolet (UV) light emitted by the Light Delivery Device™ (LDD™), molding itself to match your unique vision needs.
These UV light treatments will be administered at our office after your eye has healed from the procedure before “locking in” your optimal vision results.
This is especially beneficial for patients with a history of LASIK or refractive surgery, those who want precise distance and intermediate vision (often with good functional reading vision), or those who have successfully tried mono-vision in the past. They can also adjust for mild amounts of astigmatism that would be challenging to correct with other lens options.
You will truly have sight that’s made just for you!
