Dr. Lawrence A Shafron, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Meet Dr. Lawrence A. Shafron
Dr. Shafron was born in Vancouver, Canada, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Yeshiva University in New York before earning his Doctor of Medicine degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed his internship at Englewood Hospital and his ophthalmology residency at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he built a strong foundation in comprehensive eye care and advanced surgical techniques.
Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology, Dr. Shafron is a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is recognized as a leader in North Texas for glaucoma care, cataract surgery, and refractive procedures, with extensive experience performing cataract surgery using premium intraocular lens implants to help patients achieve the best possible visual outcomes.
In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Shafron serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School, where he contributes to the education and training of future ophthalmologists. He is an active member of numerous respected professional organizations, reflecting his ongoing commitment to clinical excellence, innovation, and providing the highest standard of eye care to the communities he serves. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Shafron is married and the proud father of three sons and one daughter.
