What is EVO ICL?
The EVO Implantable Collamer® Lens (ICL) is an advanced vision correction procedure designed for patients with moderate to severe nearsightedness, with or without astigmatism. Unlike LASIK or PRK, EVO ICL does not reshape the cornea. Instead, a soft, biocompatible lens is placed inside the eye, behind the iris and in front of your natural lens, to correct your vision.
Because your natural lens remains in place, EVO ICL preserves the eye’s natural anatomy while providing high-quality vision correction. The procedure is also removable if medically necessary, making it a unique option for patients who may not be ideal candidates for laser vision correction.

The EVO Implantable Collamer® Lens (ICL) may be an excellent option for patients seeking long-term vision correction without permanently reshaping the cornea. During your consultation, your ophthalmologist will perform a comprehensive eye exam and discuss your vision goals to determine whether EVO ICL is the right treatment for you.
You may be a good candidate if you:
- Are between the ages of 21 and 45 with a stable vision prescription.
- Have moderate to severe nearsightedness, with or without astigmatism.
- Have healthy eyes and adequate space inside the eye for the lens.
- May not be a good candidate for LASIK due to thin corneas or a higher prescription.
- Want an alternative to laser vision correction.
EVO May Not Be the Best Choice If You:
- Have an unstable vision prescription.
- Have certain eye conditions, such as cataracts, glaucoma, or retinal disease.
- Are pregnant or nursing, as vision changes can occur during this time.
- Do not meet the anatomical requirements for safe lens implantation.
