Dr. Lawrence A. Shafron
Lawrence A. Shafron, M.D. F.A.C.S., Chief Surgeon and Medical Director of Advanced Eye Care Center, was born in Vancouver, Canada and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Yeshiva University in New York, NY. He earned his M.D. at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, and also completed his internship at Englewood Hospital. Dr. Shafron completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Shafron is married and the proud father of three sons and one daughter.
Dr. Shafron is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is also a leader in the North Texas area for glaucoma care as well as cataract surgery.
Dr. Shafron is a leader in the Denton County area in performing cataract and refractive surgical procedures utilizing premium IOL implants. He also serves as an Assistant Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, Texas.
His memberships include: the Texas Medical Association, the Denton County Medical Society, a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Texas Ophthalmological Association, the American College of Eye Surgeons, the Texas Medical Foundation, the American Society of Refractive Surgery and the International Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.
